Fosca Majnoni d’Intignano

Fosca Majnoni d’Intignano joined the Council in July 2021 as an intern with the team working on the Council’s annual public opinion survey. She will earn her Master of Arts degree in social sciences from the University of Chicago in the summer of 2021, specializing in the ethics of AI. She also holds a bachelor's degree in social anthropology from the University of Cambridge (UK) and a management degree from the Cambridge Judge Business School.

She is interested in the socio-economic impacts of data technologies and in international development systems that are driven by sustainability and justice. Before coming to the US, Majnoni d’Intignano interned at the Observer Research Foundation in New Delhi, where she wrote about the intersection of the energy transition and gender inequality in rural India. She also spent time interning at the regional office of WHO in Cairo, where she worked on a Cancer Control project in Eastern Mediterranean Region and co-wrote a paper published in the International Journal of Cancer. Majnoni d’Intignano’s first encounter with development and policy work was in 2018 in Kenya where she spent several months collecting qualitative data and working with secondary schools on strengthening educational networks, donations strategy, and infrastructure investments. While at university, she was closely involved with student bodies and organizations, such as Trinity College Feminist Society, Trinity College Student Union, and the Trinity College May Ball committee.
